The via ferratas have little by little been consolidated in Andorra during the last decades, being nowadays one of its most relevant attractions. It is not necessary to be an expert mountaineer to use them, but you must be skillful and without dizziness.

Andorra has a total of 16 via ferratas, for which the only thing you need is to feel like living an unforgettable experience helped by a professional.

This activity mixes hiking and climbing, combining easy stretches with some other more risky. Being in them you’ll be able to admire beautiful landscapes.

In each via ferrata route you’ll find iron steps, cable handrails, etc. to ease the way and improve the security, so that you follow them without needing technical skills.

In Andorra you’ll find different levels and lengths of via ferratas so that you’ll enjoy them whether it is your first time or you have experience. The vias are from 150 metres (for beginners) to 400 metres (for experts).

Cable de Mora 1 and 2 (changeable):

The route of Mora 1 follows the trail, while the one of Mora Trail 2 is until the halfway; then you must follow a buttress on your right side. It is important to know that, depending on the season, you might find water or ice on its interior. (There is no available way out).

Roc del Quer:

This route takes places in the centre of the wall. Stands out the spectacular flank in the middle of the trail. (There is no available way out).

Type: Free access.
Location: Canillo.

Racons:

This route is quite vertical and amazing. On it stands out the last overhang. (There is no available way out).

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes.
Time of return: 35 minutes
Length: 400 metres.
Gradient 210 metres.
Type: free access.
Location: Canillo.

Canal del Grau:

This route is mainly horizontal. In here stand out the suspension bridges and the red needle ascent. (There is no available way out).
Difficulty: Medium.
Duration: 1 hour.
Time of return: 10 minutes.
Length: 350 metres.
Gradient 90 metres.
Type: Free access.
Location: Canillo.

Vía Cable 1:

At the end you will be able to go down from two different places: via abseiling (the longest one is 25 metres), or Camino del Grau Trail (following the yellow marks). To do this route is compulsory to take with you climbing equipment (helmet, rope, quickdraw, belay device, carabiner and descender), everything officially approved, as well as proper shoes.
(There is no available way out).
Difficulty: easy.
Length: 80 metres.
Location: Canillo.

Vía Cable 2:

At the end you’ll be able to descend in two ways: by abseiling (longest one 25 metres) or via Camino del Grau Trail (following the yellow marks). To do this route is compulsory to take with you climbing equipment (helmet, rope, quickdraw, belay device, carabiner and descender), everything officially approved, as well as proper shoes.
(There is no available way out).
Difficulty: easy.
Length: 60 metres.
Location: Canillo.

Clots de l’Aspra:

This is a recommendable route for beginners. The first part takes place by a buttress, not completely vertical and with lots of steps design to make it easier for children.
Difficulty: easy.
Duration: 60 minutes.
Time of return: 15 minutes
Length: 125 metres.
Gradient 70 metros.
Type: Free access.
Location: Encamp.

Bony d’Envalira:

This is a high mountain via ferrata over granite and excellent equipment. It’s not so difficult to do but it does often need to use the natural resources the rock offers. Dificultad: Media.
Duration: 60 minutes.
Time of return: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Length: 325 metres.
Type: Free access.
Location: Encamp.

Coll dels Isards Izquierda:

This via ferrata passes parallel to the following one. Both of them start in the same time but take different ways, sharing peak. It is an easy trail.
Difficulty: Medium.
Duration: 30 minutes.
Time of return: 1 hour.
Type: Free access.
Location: Encamp.

Coll dels Isards Derecha:

This is a high mountain via ferrata so it is recommendable to do it during the summer. It is very well equipped, and despite it is just 70 metres long it is considered a technical trail.
Difficulty: Hard.
Duration: 30 minutes.
Time of return: 1 hour.

Creu del Noral:

It is located in Bosque de Segudet Forest, a vertical adventure circuit and the Segudet Cliff. It is readily accessible and is open all the year long.

Type: Free access.
Location: Ordino.

Vía de Segudet:

This is a shorter and more entertaining than the previous one. It is ideal for beginners.
Difficulty: Easy.
Duration: 20 minutes.
Time of return: 10 minutes
Length: 250 metros.
Type: Free access.

Roc de la Coma d’Erts:

The via ferrata d’Erts climbs from the left side, by long relieved areas equipped with chains. Difficulty: Medium.
Duration: 1 hour 40 minutes.
Time of return: 30 minutes

Type: Free access.
Location: La Massana.

Sant Vicenç d’Enclar:

This via ferrata stands out for two things: its location, on a holm oaks forest surrounded by pronounced crags and with a first quality equipment. Moreover, it is so close to the centre and just some steps to Ermita de Sant Vicen d’Enclar Shrine.

Duration: 1 hour.
Time of return: 25 minutes

Type: Free access.
Location: Andorra la Vella.

Tossal Gran d’Aixovall:

This is a urban and short via ferrata. It is located at the feet of Gran Valira River, next to the village of Sant Julià de Lòria. It climbs from the walls of Tossal Gran and features a difficult variant with an athletic overhangs.
Difficulty: Easy.
Duration: 45 minutes.
Time of return: 15 minutes

Type: Free access.
Location: Sant Julià de Lòria.

Roc d’Esquers:

This is a via ferrata with a classical route. It stands out for its length and great quality of vertical paths. It is and ideal ferrata for hiking and altitude lovers.
