Canòlich Sanctuary is located in Sant Julià de Lòria. Its complicated access was used for centuries to test the pilgrim’s faith by having them crossing this harsh and demanding area to reach the town. , This ascent, known as Encuentro de Canòlich, is celebrated every last Saturday of May.

The current church of the Canòlich Sanctuary was built and refurbished at the beginning of the 20th century, but there is evidence Canòlich already existed in Medieval times. At that time it was a small village, first mentioned in 1176.

Canòlich Sanctuary is one of the three most important sanctuaries in Andorra. Actually, in the 1745 Digest de las Valls Neutras de Andorra manual it appeared as one of the main sanctuaries in Andorra, together with Sant Antoni de Grella Sanctuary and Meritxell Sanctuary.

Nowadays, thanks to the perfect conditions of the old path it is possible to go walking
or by road, where you will enjoy great views over the valley and discover the shrine. There is also a 4x4 leaving from Fontaneda.
