The Iglesia de Santa Eulàlia Church is located in the village of Santa Eulália d’Encamp in the Encamp parish in Andorra.
This parish church has a Romanesque origin and, nowadays, still keeps part of its former architecture. The building was restored and expanded on various occasions during the 17th and 20th centuries. The bell tower of Lombard style stands out for being the tallest tower in Andorra with 23 meters high. It was built after the church, approximately in the second half of the 11th century.
Its former Romanesque apse was destroyed in 1924. Currently, it only keeps the floor in its interior. The colonnade dates from the 14th century. It is very interesting the Romanesque baptismal font, decorated with arches and fleurs-de-lis; the three Baroque retables from the 17th and 18th centuries; and the new stained glass, made by the artist Agustí Ríos, who was born in Encamp.
If you visit the Iglesia de Santa Eulàlia Church of Encamp, it is highly recommended to walk just a few minutes along the historical centre of Encamp. There, you will find out some information about religious art of the area in the Museum of the Religious Art, although it is as well interesting the National Museum of the Automobile.
